Architectural Descriptions and Heritage Master Plan

This is an important 19th C. nationally-designated complex of industrial heritage buildings, comprised of approximately 30 brick and stone structures. Many of the buildings were designed by the architect and engineer David Roberts, Sr., David Roberts, Jr., and by the firm of Gundry and Langely. The buildings feature a variety of classical details and ornamentation characteristic of the Victorian Industrial style.

Our firm acted as the restoration specialist for the overall complex redevelopment plan. We prepared a complete building inventory report, describing in detail the architectural characteristics of the existing buildings and structures. We also coordinated a complete and detailed photo documentation survey of all buildings, structures and views.

For our work in this project, the firm received, in 1995, the Toronto Historical Board Award of Merit for Architectural Conservation.
