Research | ArconTEST has undertaken and continually carries out research and development of suitable mortar and grout types for heritage-specific applications. One of the more notable projects in which ArconTEST has completed was an independent mortar research project to develop a more durable mortar for historic buildings in the Canadian climate. This work is partially funded by Canada’s National Research Council’s Industrial Research Assistance Programme. This work was carried out with the assistance of senior research staff at the Institute for Research in Construction at NRC in Ottawa. ArconTEST has recently compiled an annotated bibliography of literature and other resource material relating to mortar studies and has developed an in-house unidirectional freeze-thaw environmental chamber system based upon the draft European Standard MS 96/14 (Determination of Frost Resistance) as part of their research. | |||
